Latest Editing Projects:
One of Deborah Jackson's recent editing projects
is
Aunt Bessie's How to Survive a Day Job While
Pursuing the Creative Life
, a Joel Eisenberg
presentation and a publication of
Topos Books.  It
is currently available in bookstores and at

www.amazon.com
.  Work is currently under way on
the sequel:
You're Too Smart to Go Down Stupid
(release date as yet undetermined).

Work on the
Bessie project included transcription
of participant interviews (including Clive Barker,
Stephen J. Cannell, Father Andrew Greeley, Alan
Dean Foster, Larry Hagman, Kelly Lange, Robert
Wise, Stuart Woods and many more), plus two
copy editing passes and formatting of the
manuscript in Microsoft Word in preparation for
translation to PDF file and eventual publication.
Topos Books also presents Tales of the Dead
(also available at
www.amazon.com), the book
that ostensibly inspired the writing contest among
friends that resulted in Mary Shelley's authorship
of
Frankenstein.

Deborah Jackson Americanized the spelling of
the British translation, updated the punctuation
and formatted the manuscript for publication.
The text and paragraphing remain virtually
untouched in order to preserve the flavor and
style of the language of the period.

Joel Eisenberg is a published writer in several
media (film, television, magazines, commercial
spots); he is also the Conference Director of the
annual
San Diego Film and Screenwriting Festival.

Testimonials:
"What a terrific job of editing!  I am impressed not only with you finding my all-too-numerous stupidities but also
with you getting inside my mind to make sense out of some obscure passages.  You did a great job of
understanding what I intended to say and of finding ways for me to say it with economy and vigor."  Dr. John
Gay, retired college professor, former missionary to Africa, Cambridge, MA.

"I have referred a dozen students and faculty to Deborah Jackson, and they all ask me, 'Where did you find
such a jewel?'  I greatly respect her editorial advice." Rodolfo F. Acuña, Ph.D., California State University,
Northridge.

"As an instructor at Cal State, Northridge and as Executive Director of Proyecto Pastoral at Dolores Mission, I
have sent Deborah diverse projects that demand detailed editing, often within a few hours.  She is exact,
thoughtful and willing to learn new things.  Deborah always attempts to predict my needs and meet them,
sometimes even before I know them." Gabriel Buelna, Ph.D., MSW, Instructor, Chicana/o Studies Department,
California State University Northridge.

"Fast, accurate, knowledgeable, friendly, with loads of integrity. I have used her services for the past nine
years. Great work." Alan Weinstock, insurance broker, Northridge, CA.

"I recently completed a book-length series of interviews for my company's first publishing venture, and I needed
someone whom I could trust to get the job done. Deborah is reliable, honest, honorable, loyal, detail-oriented
and careful."  Joel Eisenberg, President, Topos Books, www.toposbooks.com.

"Deborah, you are a true savior.  There has never been a job too small or too large that I have not been able to
depend on you to deliver as promised.  Your hard work has been an indispensable part of my practice."
P. Christopher Ardalan, Esq., ARDALAN & ASSOCIATES, PLC, Sherman Oaks, CA.

"...you deserve every penny.  Thanks for the help. You have a client for the next five years." Graduate
student/doctoral candidate, Los Angeles, CA.
