Áccent on Words Editing and Ghostwriting Services
Debbie's BLOG
Editing and ghostwriting make for a great profession! I get to meet all kinds of interesting and wonderful people, and I learn something new every day from my clients and from the words that they've written.
Often, I get to help someone realize a dream. I have helped people who wanted to self-publish a book in order to promote their business, leave an enduring legacy behind when they're gone or even change the world.
I helped a novelist realize her dream of publishing three romance novels.
I have helped doctoral candidates refine the words on their dissertations and master's candidates adjust their theses so they could achieve their long-awaited advanced degrees, thus opening up entirely new vistas of opportunity in their professions.
It's immensely satisfying to have a client call me and say, "The graduation committee accepted my dissertation. I'm now a 'doctor'!" Or, "Check out my book! It's finally up on amazon.com!" Or, "I'm doing my first book signing at Barnes and Noble next week. Can you come?"
Editors are a lot like teachers...neither profession is going to make someone rich. So why do we do it? Because we love what we do. Crafting words correctly but also so that they convey a message effectively and with creativity and meaning ― and helping someone in the process ― that's what it's all about.
Actually, it's really about one more thing: Me working hard to make you look good!
Best wishes for success with your next writing project,
Debbie Jackson
